After I got my iPhone, I’ve been trying to find ways to use it as creatively as possible, and at the same time find where the limits of the iPhone are.

Here’s a song I made on Iphone using Xewton Music Studio – no external samples used, only the default instruments in the software.

It’s been a while since my last post. (I guess 6 months is a while indeed…)
I’ve been working a lot so It’s been hard to find enough spare time for drawing and arts. Last week, however I had a chance to make this short christmas greeting video for my company.

Today I made a comic book style self-portrait for my Facebook profile. Really loved doing it. I wanted to keep it as simple as possible to capture only the essence. And there’s always room for some self-irony, as you can see from my earlier work too.

Midnight summer day sketches…

A few sketches made while celebrating the midnight summer day. The most important day to celebrate here in Finland. Everyone goes to their summer cottages or to some massive outdoor music festivals. I had great time at my friends summer cottage although it rained a lot. Some good food, lots of beer and a sauna kept us warm.

Sketching in Birger…

Today I was sitting in Birger, a local bar, drinking some beer and sketching as usual – what ever came to my mind. Yet again, the point was not to create a perfect masterpiece but merely just draw as much as possible (Like even it would be possible while drinking beer ..then again some masters did work under influence of narcotics .

The idea for the lizard and the coal worker came when I saw the shadow cast by the previous page of the sketchbook. All I had to do was draw the outline and fill in the details

Working with clay…

I bought some clay (yes!) and did a small sculpture of a cat and new born kitten. Well.. didn’t really plan it, but hey.. that’s what came out when I just started working… I guess I have some deep issues, since this was the fist thing that came to my mind

Beer, patterns and sunshine

We’ve been having great weather here in southern Finland for past few weeks. Wind may still feel cold some days but the sun is blazing more and more every day. Thank god summer coming. No wonder I’ve been seen sitting in local beer gardens a lot lately. Now is no exception.

I’ve also been trying to keep a sketchbook with me all the time. I found one I started last summer in Italy. I only drew three pictures then, so there’s plenty of empty pages to fill…

Skulls and sculptures

Last weekend I had a chance to work with clay… One of the new things I’ve been learning lately. I even did my first ever sculpture, or should I say skullpture… Clay was definitely very inspiring material, so I hope to have a new chance soon…

Today, after work, I went to sit in the local beer garden by myself. While drinking beer I picked a pen and started to do some sketching. The first topic that came to my mind was… organic design.
